The main goal of a Pay Per Click, or PPC, program is to drive traffic to your site, but ideally you want more out of PPC results than just visits. What's most important is traffic that reaches some conversion goal that you've set for your web site.

Although these factors look simple to implement (and the PPC companies make it very easy to get started) the biggest problem with PPC is that it can quickly drain your budget if you chase very popular keywords. Some in-demand keywords will never drop below $5 per click, and the maximum bid is $100 per click - you can see how this could escalate, especially when competing with the big player who have thousands in their PPC budgets!
